PALAEOCLIMATOLOGY LAB

El Palaeoclimatology Lab de la Universidad de Vigo tiene como objetivo el registro paleoclimático de los últimos millones de años para determinar cuantitativamente: (i) el ritmo, la magnitud y la tasa de cambio climático oceánico en el pasado; y (ii) las relaciones entre forzamiento, retroalimentaciones y respuestas de sistema climático bajo condiciones naturales (no antropogénicas).

Utilizamos herramientas geoquímicas, micropaleontológicas y sedimentológicas, así como estadística probabilística para reconstruir parámetros oceanográficos y climáticos claves tales como temperatura, salinidad, la química del carbono oceánico y las concentraciones de CO2 en la atmósfera.
